KANABA SUBCOUNTY, KISORO DISTRICT – A Gateway bus with registration number UBK 804Y was involved in an accident today, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at approximately 11:00 AM. The incident occurred near the First Red Carpet area in Kyananke, Kanaba Subcounty, Kisoro District.
The bus, which was en route from Kampala to Kisoro Town, reportedly developed mechanical issues earlier in the journey while passing through Mpigi District. Despite the fault, the bus continued its travel as operators attempted to reach a garage for repairs.
While authorities have not yet released official details on the number or condition of casualties, eyewitnesses at the scene confirmed that no fatalities occurred. Several passengers are believed to have sustained injuries.
Those who were injured were transported to hospitals in Kisoro for medical attention. Uninjured passengers continued their journey using boda bodas.
