The Kisoro District Council, led by Speaker Amos Hakizimana, has formed a special committee to investigate the alleged mismanagement of Shs 30 million allocated for the repair of the official vehicle belonging to District Chairperson Abel Bizimana.

The committee comprises Agaba James, Councilor for Southern Division; Godfrey Rukara, Councilor for Nyakabande Sub-county; Juliet Kamusiime, Councilor for Nyanamo Town Council; Nyakato Diana, Councilor for Nyakinama Sub-county; and David Sebagabo, Clerk to Council.

The decision was made during a council session held yesterday, during which councilors accused the LCV Chairperson of misusing the funds. According to council records, the Shs 30 million was designated for repairing the LCV vehicle, registration number UG 3185R, which had reportedly been in a garage in Kampala for over four years.

However, just days before the council meeting, the vehicle was found parked at the Kisoro Municipal Yard, missing several key components—including the engine, air cleaner, and crankshaft—raising further suspicions about the use of the allocated funds.

Speaker Hakizimana confirmed the formation of the committee, stating it would play a crucial role in uncovering the truth behind the matter.

District Chairperson Abel Bizimana declined to comment, saying only that the committee had been entrusted with handling the issue.
