Salt TV Faces Shutdown on DSTV Without UGX 215 Million Funding — Public Asked to Help

The Ankole Times

Salt TV, a popular Christian television station broadcasting on DSTV, is at risk of being taken off air unless UGX 215 million (USD 60,000) is urgently raised to cover outstanding costs.

The station’s founder, Pastor Aloysious Bujjingo of House of Prayer Ministries International, has made a public appeal for support, calling on the community and church congregations to contribute toward saving the channel. Several local church leaders have already pledged to mobilize funds to help meet the target.

Addressing criticisms, Pastor Bujjingo explained why Salt TV is no longer available on the Free to Air service. “We were among numerous channels removed, but others raised the funds needed to return. The amount required is too much to gather alone, which is why I have brought it to the church. Help me raise this money so we can return and spread the Gospel to those who are lost,” he said.

He further urged critics to investigate the financial requirements before accusing him of soliciting money exploitatively.

Over the years, Pastor Bujjingo has faced accusations similar to those leveled at many city pastors, with critics alleging exploitation of congregants’ hard-earned income and manipulative use of scripture.

Additionally, Pastor Bujjingo has been fundraising for nearly a decade to build the prominent Pentagon Church. Despite billions of shillings reportedly collected, there remains little visible accountability or results for the project.

The future of Salt TV hangs in the balance, and its continued operation depends on the generosity of viewers and supporters committed to advancing the gospel through the station’s broadcasts.
