CORRUPTION ALERT: Possible Dirty Deals Uncovered in KCCA’s UGX 45 Billion Buyala Landfill Project

The Ankole Times

Concerns are emerging around the Buyala landfill project after it was reported that a landowner signed for UGX 20 billion but ended up receiving a much smaller amount.

The land, located along Kampala–Mityana Road, is part of the site being developed by the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) as a replacement for the old Kiteezi landfill.

The entire project is budgeted at UGX 45 billion, including land acquisition and development.

It has now come to our notice, according to an anonymous whistleblower, that one of the landowners was allegedly involved in a quiet arrangement where the official payment figure recorded was UGX 20 billion, yet the actual amount paid out was far less.

The deal was reportedly handled in coordination with officials from KCCA and the ministry responsible for Kampala.

This development raises fresh questions about accountability and possible misuse of public funds under the cover of legitimate land compensation. We intend to contact KCCA and the relevant ministry for comment.

In our next article, we shall reveal the full details of this transaction, including the exact amount the landowner received.

This is a developing story……
