403 Brigade Commander Handed Over in Napak as RDC Commends UPDF Discipline

Napak, Uganda – The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Napak district in the Karamoja sub-region has commended the outgoing 403 Brigade Commander for being a disciplined Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) officer who served the brigade and Napak district with dedication and humility.

The Napak RDC, seated centrally at the ceremony, warmly greeted the 3rd Division Commander from Moroto, expressing his pleasure at the strong relationship between the UPDF, the RDC’s office, and other security forces. He noted that this collaboration has fostered unity and teamwork in service delivery across the district.




The remarks were made during the handover ceremony of the outgoing CO 403 Brigade Commander, Matany, Napak, to the incoming Brigade CO Lt. Col. Ochuka Opio Mike, held on Monday, July 21, 2025.




In attendance were the area Member of Parliament for Bokora County, Hon. Ngoya JB, Hon. Women MP Faith Nakut, and a large number of other security officers.




The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Napak assured the people of Bokora and Karamoja as a whole that the prevailing peace has been brought about by the NRM Government under the leadership of H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

He urged the Wananchi (citizens) to vote for His Excellency Gen. Yoweri Museveni Kaguta in the 2026 general election, stating that President Museveni’s leadership is “irreversible.” Odongo added that issues like security and cattle raids/cattle rustling should not be politicized, emphasizing that the NRM government has delivered total peace and fostered wealth creation through the Parish Development Model (PDM) initiative in all parishes.
