Fake Claims Exposed as Obongi Evicts Balalo and Recovers Stolen Cattle

Over 100 Ankole Cows and Two Balalo Evicted in Obongi by District Security Committee

The District Security Committee of Obongi, led by the RDC (Resident District Commissioner) Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, has evicted over 100 Ankole cows and two balalo (nomadic herders).

The eviction followed an intelligence-led operation conducted by the UPDF, during which it was discovered that some local residents and leaders were involved in hiding balalo and their cows, falsely claiming the animals as their own.

It was revealed that one Tairi Abas from Yumbe District, along with his brother, retired Col. Lumumba, had falsely claimed ownership of approximately 200 Ankole cows.

After the Obongi District Security Committee impounded 124 cows from Gimara Sub-county, the actual owner, Mbabazi Christine, came forward and stated that she did not even know Col. Lumumba.

In a twist of events, Col. Lumumba fled the area and narrowly avoided arrest.

The Security Committee subsequently ordered Mbabazi to take possession of her cows, in accordance with Executive Order No. 2 recently issued by H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

In a separate incident, one Mzee Okwera of Lomunga Parish in Gimara Sub-county falsely claimed ownership of over 100 Ankole cows. However, another intelligence-led operation revealed that the animals actually belonged to one Fred Buzale, who was then evicted along with his cows.

RDC Hashaka emphasized that the district will strictly adhere to the Executive Order recently issued by the President.
