His Highness the Umukuka III, Jude Mike Mudoma, has briefed headteachers across Masaabaland about the upcoming symposium, which is expected to be attended by over 6,000 people.
The theme of the conference is “Shifting the Narrative and Unleashing Bugisu Potential through Unity of Purpose.” It will take place on October 4th and will feature a series of events, including prayers and a general cleanup of Mbale City.
According to Steven Masiga, spokesperson for the Bamasaaba Cultural Institution, the event will also mark the second coronation anniversary of His Highness. He will host a feast for his people, which will include students and other invited guests.
Speaking at the briefing, Bishop Kyaro, one of the ministers in the cultural institution, explained that the function will be attended by global leaders from the USA and Indonesia. The event will also explore the possibility of twinning Mbale City with other cities outside Uganda.
The Headmaster of Mbale Secondary School, who is also the chairman of all headteachers in Mbale District, pledged to mobilize fellow headteachers and students to participate in the event.
