Dokolo District, Uganda – Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, commonly known as “Mama Bukedea,” has rallied the people of Dokolo District to support President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and vote for National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates.
While addressing a large crowd at a campaign rally held at Dokolo Technical School in Dokolo Town Council on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Speaker Among urged voters to support President Museveni, emphasizing that massive development in infrastructure and healthcare would follow his re-election.
She noted, “More roads and health centers will be rapidly improved once the President is voted into office overwhelmingly.”
Among recalled her early political journey, which began in Labongo (then part of Lira Municipality), during a time of insurgency. She commended President Museveni for restoring peace and stability in the region, allowing communities to thrive.
“As Speaker of Parliament, we want voters to elect knowledgeable people to go to Parliament. Send the rightful Members of Parliament, don’t allow anyone to come and deceive you,” she emphasized.
She added, “This time around, we are not going to bring people from outside. We shall use the party structures at the district level to mobilize for votes.”
Meanwhile, the NRM flag bearer for Dokolo North, Joseph Jones Ogwal, also addressed the crowd. He urged voters to reject independent and opposition candidates and instead vote solely for NRM representatives.
