The Member of Parliament elect for Bunyarduguru Constituency, Hon. Cadet Benjamin, has urged Christians to embrace faith, love, respect and unity within their families and communities as a foundation for sustainable development.
Hon. Cadet made the remarks while addressing Christians in Kasese Diocese, Kasese District, where he was invited as the chief guest at a fundraising event to support victims of the Nyamugongo incident.
The MP-elect contributed Shs8 million in cash towards the cause and pledged additional support towards the construction of the church. By the end of the event, more than Shs52 million had been raised in cash contributions.
In his message, Hon. Cadet emphasized the importance of faithfulness, sacrifice, forgiveness and spiritual renewal, particularly during the Ash season and Lent. He encouraged residents and leaders to use this period for reconciliation, unity and strengthening family bonds.
He further called upon the young generation to love God, maintain discipline, show respect and work hard in order to become responsible citizens and role models for future generations. He urged them to serve as ambassadors of positive values within their communities.
Hon. Cadet also encouraged well-wishers and those with financial means to support vulnerable families, churches and mosques, noting that generosity brings blessings. He stressed that giving to support God’s work and those in need does not result in loss but in spiritual and communal growth.
He appealed to parents to raise their children with strong moral values to combat ignorance, corruption, poverty and illiteracy. He called on all Ugandans to work together, support one another and promote unity beyond tribal and religious differences for the betterment of the nation.
