Women in Aviation to Shine at Landmark International Women’s Day Gala

Kampala, Uganda – The countdown has begun for a premier event on Uganda’s social and aviation calendar: the International Women’s Day Aviation Gala Dinner. Scheduled for Sunday, 8th March 2026, at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, the evening promises to be a powerful celebration of women’s contributions to the country’s aerospace sector.

Organized under the evocative theme “Bringing light into aviation: Women Powering Uganda’s Skies,” the gala aims to spotlight the critical role female professionals play in the industry. From pilots and engineers to air traffic controllers and corporate leaders, the event will honor their achievements and inspire the next generation to pursue careers in aviation.

The evening’s proceedings will commence at 4:00 PM at the Sheraton Hotel, with a strict Executive Dress and Bow Tie dress code, ensuring a sophisticated and formal atmosphere befitting the occasion.

Attendees can look forward to an evening of networking, fine dining, and recognition, set against the backdrop of Uganda’s growing aviation landscape. The organizers have set an access fee of 250,000 UGX, which covers entry to the gala dinner and its associated activities.

Uganda Airlines and Kenya Airways are listed as key participants, underscoring the regional importance of the initiative. They are joined by motorcycle-hailing company SafeBoda, demonstrating a cross-sector commitment to celebrating women in mobility. Financial and insurance services are represented by ICEA LION and SafeCard, rounding out a diverse group of sponsors backing the cause.
