Bugisu Community Salutes President Museveni for Mentoring Hon. Mariam Wangadya and Employing Her

The spokesperson of the Bugisu cultural institution, Steven Masiga, has appreciated President Yoweri Museveni for empowering Hon. Mariam Wangadya with several responsibilities.

Masiga said that, as a cultural institution, they are very comfortable with this level of trust, an issue that has pleased the leadership of the Bugisu cultural institution and the entire Bugisu community.

Meanwhile, the Mufti of Uganda, His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Mubajje, saluted President Museveni for his inclusive leadership and for bringing the Muslim community into key government appointments. His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Mubajje said:

“As the Muslim fraternity, we have worked with the chairperson of the Uganda Human Rights Commission, including from her time as Deputy IGG, and she has held the Muslim banner well. We are pleased, I must say.”

Hon. Emmanuel Mutanje, one of the Deputy Prime Ministers in the Bugisu cultural institution, said Mariam has done Bugisu proud, serving with absolute dignity and a clean record. Mutanje added:

“I worked closely with Hon. Mariam Wangadya when I worked with James Wapakhabulo as a political assistant. I recall her mobilizing massively for the NRM party in the Bugisu region, especially women, through her networks. Mariam is an asset to Bugisu and Uganda.”

The Mufti of Uganda for the Eastern Region, Sheikh Dr. Ahamada Wandega, also thanked Mariam Wangadya for supporting and funding several projects of the Islamic fraternity in Eastern Uganda—a view validated by several district imams in the Bugisu region and beyond.
