Whoever is still questioning the purpose of the Democratic Party (DP) and National Resistance Movement (NRM) Cooperation Agreement needs to be taken to Butabika for rehabilitation because the majority of Ugandans have witnessed the importance of this cooperation agreement.
To have a peaceful and developed country, the ruling party and opposition should always come together and work if their interests are for the population. Thanks to DP and NRM for opening up that room for cooperation.
First of all, from 2022, when DP and NRM signed a cooperation agreement through the efforts and blessing of President General Norbert Mao, a lot has happened in this country, and Ugandans are seeing it but they don’t have the spirit of appreciation.
Many Ugandan youths were only trained by other opposition parties to hate the ruling party. They were blindfolded into thinking that NRM had failed this country. This nearly made them lose the direction of the truth, not until DP became the only opposition party, amid criticism, to sign this agreement with the NRM.
What DP did was what our neighbouring country Kenya did, whereby the former ODM leader, the late Rt Hon Raila Odinga Amollo, was appointed Prime Minister in Uhuru and Ruto’s governments respectively.
Rt Hon Odinga accepted that cooperation not for money but for the development of Kenya. This is what Hon Mao has done, not because of money but out of patriotism and love for the country.
Hon Mao has accepted to be called all names, including “pumpkin,” which is green outside but yellow inside, but those calling Hon Mao such names have not made any single contribution to help the youth live better lives. Instead, they are only after their stomachs and families.
I always tell people that when you are invited to a wedding party and it happens that there are dogs at that function, please do not beat those dogs because all of you have gone there for that function.
So what Hon Mao is simply doing is leveling the ground whereby everyone appreciates how services are distributed, but he is not in that cooperation for his personal gains but for everyone.
This DP-NRM agreement has given opportunities to many youths, including those who were only interested in castigating the NRM party, to have something for survival.
This cooperation agreement has helped youths to get access to jobs, education, business opportunities, and legal support through the Ministry of Justice.
Hon Mao even went overboard in supporting many Ugandans and outsiders to access justice regardless of their tribe as minister.
Hon Mao has done this within just four years. What if he wins the Speakership? How many people will be helped, especially in education, business training, and access to justice? End.
