Mutoto, Mbale City (Uganda) — The spokesperson of the Bugisu Cultural Institution, Steven Masiga, has told The Ankole Times by telephone from the Mutoto Cultural Site that His Highness the Umukuka, Jude Mike Mudoma, has officially launched the Imbalu Board.
The Imbalu Board will be in charge of preparations for the 2026 Imbalu circumcision ceremony.
The board is chaired by Mr. Emmanuel Watundu, who also works with Open Gate Radio Station, alongside several other executives.
Masiga said the chairman of the board is from the Wanale Clan, while the 2024 chairperson came from the Mubuya Clan.
The Umukuka was today accompanied by the Prime Minister of the Bugisu Cultural Institution, Dr. Paul Mwambu, the spokesperson Steven Masiga, and the Minister of Works, Allan Wekesa.
The board is made up of 11 members.
