Afande IGP, please remove all old police officers attached to Parliament and deploy new ones

Steven Ariong

As the fight against corruption has intensified, starting with the search of the homes of the troubled former Speaker of Parliament, Annet Anita Among, over alleged illicit enrichment, I would like to request the Inspector General of Police to consider removing all the old police officers attached to Parliament and deploy new ones.

Why am I saying this? Afande IGP, there are police officers who have stayed in Parliament for more than 10 years. The majority of them were working under the directives of the former Speaker, so by leaving them in Parliament, it will not be easy for the new Speaker.

I am confident enough that some of those officers were on the payroll of Parliament, so removing them will stop Parliament information from getting out to the camp of the troubled former Speaker.

I have also noted that as the search is going on, I am skeptical about the way the detectives are conducting the search with sympathy towards the former Speaker.

Honestly speaking, if it were not for corruption, Uganda would be more developed than Dubai because under the leadership of President Museveni, there is total peace in the country. Mind you, a country without peace will not develop. Now we have peace, but corrupt officials are making it hard for the country to develop.
