SIRONKO, Uganda — Sironko District Woman Member of Parliament, Honorable Mafabi Asha Nabulo, has on Friday, 19th June, been appointed and selected as the Sironko District Roads Committee Chairperson, replacing her predecessor in the role.
Sironko District’s rugged terrain continues to present significant challenges to road infrastructure development, making it one of the districts in the Bugisu sub-region with the poorest road network.
In her new role, Hon. Asha Nabulo has pledged to work closely with the district leadership and technical teams to improve road maintenance and development, with a focus on enhancing motorability and facilitating access to goods and services to support socio-economic transformation in the district.
In a related development, Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo, in collaboration with the Nile Humanitarian Development Agency, also launched safe water projects in Nalugugu Parish, Bukiise Sub-county, on the same day.
Bukiise Sub-county, one of the most populous areas in Sironko District, has for years faced persistent challenges in accessing safe and clean water. The newly commissioned boreholes are expected to reduce pressure on existing water sources and improve access to clean water for residents.

The launch was officiated through her representative, who reaffirmed her commitment to delivering practical community-based interventions aimed at improving service delivery and living conditions.
Local leaders welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely and transformative for communities that have long endured unreliable access to clean water. Community members also expressed optimism that the new water sources will improve daily living conditions, support better health outcomes, and enhance local economic activity.
The project reflects growing collaboration between elected leaders and development partners in addressing essential community needs and improving livelihoods across Sironko District.
Hon. Asha Nabulo reaffirmed her commitment to working with stakeholders to ensure improved service delivery and sustainable development across the district, through both infrastructure development and community-focused interventions.
