The leadership of Rubanda District has challenged the newly inaugurated District Land Board to uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability as it takes on the constitutional responsibility of managing land affairs in the district.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson Stephen Ampeire Kasyaba described land as the backbone of homes, agriculture, investment, and the livelihoods of residents, stressing that proper land management is essential for peace, economic growth, and sustainable development.
He urged the board members to perform their duties without fear or favour, emphasizing the need for professionalism, accountability, and strict adherence to the rule of law.
“The oath you have taken is a solemn commitment to uphold public trust and serve every citizen fairly and equally,” Kasyaba said.
The Rubanda District Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Samuel Ahabwe, congratulated the new board members and assured them of the district’s full technical and administrative support in executing their mandate.
Ahabwe called on the board to maintain the highest standards of integrity by avoiding corruption, political interference, and personal interests while handling land matters.
He also encouraged close collaboration with the District Council, the District Executive Committee (DEC), the District Land Office, and Area Land Committees to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery.
“The people of Rubanda expect a land board that is accessible, responsive, efficient, and committed to the timely resolution of land matters while ensuring proper management of land records,” Ahabwe said.

- Mutabazi Damiano – Member
- Rubagunya John Paul – Member
Speaking on behalf of the board, Chairperson Musiime Jimmy pledged to work closely with the district leadership and all relevant stakeholders to ensure effective land administration and improved service delivery.
He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to promoting fairness, transparency, and professionalism in the management of land issues for the benefit of the people of Rubanda.
The inauguration marks the beginning of the board’s constitutional mandate to oversee land administration in the district, with local leaders expressing confidence that it will strengthen public trust and improve the handling of land-related matters.
