I was shocked when I listened to a translated statement by our senior elder, Papa and educationist Professor Emphraim Kamuntu, during his thanksgiving prayers, belittling our leader of the Patriotic League of Uganda, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, claiming that this country cannot be led by leaders like Gen. Muhoozi. I would like to appeal to our senior elders that your time was there, and it is coming to an end.
We, the youth of Uganda, have now chosen to back Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as our next leader. So, when you, our senior leaders, speak against our will as youth, it puts you in danger during your remaining years on earth.
General Muhoozi is a generational leader, and he is backed by millions of youth across the country. Remember, the largest proportion of Uganda’s population is now made up of youth, while the numbers of elders are declining. So, it is either you accept to move with us or leave us to do our work.
One thing you, our elders, should know is that when you grow old, it is the young person who leads you where you want to go. So, please allow General Muhoozi to take on the mantle now.
Gen. Muhoozi is already a tested leader, an anti-corruption leader, and a leader who has instilled maximum discipline in our forces, cleared corruption in army recruitment, and tackled the theft of fuel, among many other things that have qualified him to lead this country after our Jaja Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
I also saw another minister castigating the method that Hon. Minister Balaam is using to expose corruption in local governments. To my surprise, the same minister has been in this government for years but has failed to tackle corruption in his Ministry of Fisheries.
To me, I see the attack on Hon. Balaam as an attack on Gen. Muhoozi and Mzee Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who directed Hon. Balaam to do what it takes to clean up local governments and other departments.
I call upon our Band Man, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, never to be shaken by those spent forces as we move on with our mobilisation.
To Minister Balaam, please double your efforts. When you see ministers and other agencies castigating you, then you know your work is making an impact. Move on; Ugandans are behind you.
Long live the Badman General Muhoozi and our Jaja Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
