In a courtroom in Luweero District, a man named Friday Musoke has pleaded guilty to conspiring with his mistress to end the life of his wife and the mother of their four children. Residence Lumule Zone, Bombo Town Council, Luweero District
Charge Conspiracy to commit murder
Sentence Two years in prison

Musoke, who has been in remand since January, willingly accepted a negotiated agreement and confessed his guilt to the charge of conspiracy to commit murder. He agreed to serve a two year prison sentence.

The victim, Lilian Nambowa, who is also Musoke’s wife, expressed her support for the negotiated sentence. She tearfully told the court that they have four children who need their father’s support. Nambowa credited a medical doctor who reported the case to the police, ultimately saving her life.

The case came to public attention when it was revealed that Musoke and his mistress had hired a medical doctor to carry out the murder plan. Reportedly, the mistress provided the doctor with UGX 500,000 out of the promised UGX 5 million for the arrangement on December 28, 2022. The doctor, however, refused to proceed with the sinister plan, choosing instead to protect the intended victim and assist in the apprehension of the suspects.

The prosecution, led by Luweero Resident State Attorney Gloria Akello, alleged that between June 2022 and January of the current year, Musoke had conspired to end his wife’s life due to domestic conflicts. Musoke had approached Dr. Onesmus Bainomugisha, a medical practitioner in Bombo Town, to negotiate the sinister deal. It was agreed that Musoke would pay UGX 5 million once the doctor completed the operation.

As part of the plan, the victim, Ms. Nambowa, was to be sedated with chloroform before being taken to the medical facility, where the doctor would perform the fatal procedure. The doctor, however, chose to report the plot, leading to the arrests of those involved.
