Stanbic Bank Uganda Donates 100 Mama Kits to Alebtong Expectant Mothers

Alebtong, Uganda – Stanbic Bank has generously donated 100 Mama Kits to support expectant mothers during childbirth at Alebtong Health Center IV on Friday. Tich Makonese, Executive Head of IAM at Stanbic Bank Uganda, highlighted the bank’s commitment to assisting expectant mothers, stating that over the past years, Stanbic Bank Uganda has donated more than 600,000 Mama Kits in partnership with various health centers and providers.

Additionally, the bank provided adjustable beds to facilitate deliveries, aiming to ensure the comfort of the surgeons during procedures. Makonese emphasized, ‘We believe that by supporting mothers and ensuring safe deliveries, we contribute to Uganda’s growth.’




In line with this commitment, Stanbic Bank offers special packages for health workers and women. They provide specific accounts with attractive interest rates that are worth considering, standing in solidarity with the community. ‘One of our recent initiatives is the ‘Uganda Greening Campaign’ addressing deforestation. We intend to plant over 10,000 tree seedlings this week,’ added the Executive Head IAM.




Acknowledging October as a special month for Stanbic Bank, Makonese expressed, ‘October is what we call the love month.’ He emphasized the bank’s dedication to the community and the significance of the donations, aiming to improve lives and stand united with the community.




Dr. Odung Tony, the Alebtong District Health Officer, urged the people of Alebtong to stand with Stanbic Bank, acknowledging their support. He highlighted the need for a reliable power source, including theater lamps, following recent power outages that resulted in maternal losses during referrals at the health center.

DK Odongo, the Alebtong District LCV chairperson, confirmed his intention to open a personal bank account with Stanbic Bank next week as a gesture of appreciation for the bank’s support to the district. ‘Let’s make the best use of the support received from Stanbic Bank,’ he urged the community.

Jillian Akullu Omara, the Alebtong Resident District Commissioner (RDC), encouraged mothers to engage with Stanbic Bank due to their support in the health sector. She pledged her full support and promised to advocate for the bank’s initiatives.




Earlier in the day, Lira City’s Deputy Resident City Commissioner, Enock Wandera, commended Stanbic Bank for initiating the Love Market Day at Mayor’s Garden in Lira City. He emphasized the bank’s role in promoting financial inclusion and lauded their professionalism.

Wandera encouraged the people in Lira City to open accounts with Stanbic Bank, highlighting the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community through initiatives like the Love Market Day. ‘Stanbic Bank is the right partner; they engage with the Wanahinci and make banking easier for everyone,’ he remarked.

In conclusion, he recalled Stanbic Bank’s slogan ‘moving forward,’ expressing gratitude for their commitment. He officially declared the market day open before the Stanbic team rushed to Alebtong district to continue their initiatives.




The market day witnessed the presence of several Stanbic Bank staff, political leaders, stakeholders, and members of the business community from various parts of the country, adding color to the event at Lira Mayor’s garden.
