KAMPALA, UGANDA – Uganda will take centre stage in Africa’s branding and marketing arena this Friday, August 15, 2025, when it hosts the 15th Anniversary of the Brand Africa Awards at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

The high-profile event, organised by Publics Africa Communications, will attract CEOs, CMOs, academics, media professionals, and thought leaders from across the continent to celebrate brand excellence and share insights on the future of African brands.

MTN Uganda CEO Sylvia Mulinge will deliver the keynote address, setting the tone for a masterclass on Brand Leadership and Excellence by South African author and brand expert Thebe Ikalafeng.

“This is more than just an awards ceremony; it’s a platform for dialogue, learning, and collaboration that will empower our brands to compete globally. We are thrilled to welcome Africa’s top business minds to Kampala for this landmark event,” said Joseph Kanyamunyu, Managing Director of Publics Africa Communications.

The 2025 edition will unveil the most extensive Brand Africa rankings to date, based on a survey of consumers aged 18 and above across 30+ countries, representing over 85% of Africa’s population and GDP.

Rankings will cover the Top 100 Most Admired Brands overall and by region, category, and country, along with new generational preference insights.

Special awards will honour sustainability champions and leaders in public, private, and non-profit sectors. At the same time, the inaugural Brand Africa Hall of Fame will induct brands that have consistently dominated the rankings for over a decade.

The Brand Africa 100 | Africa’s Best Brands rankings are compiled using a rigorous, data-driven methodology led by research partners GeoPoll and Kantar.

The survey, conducted in eight languages through mobile, online, and face-to-face interviews, generated more than 150,000 brand mentions and nearly 6,000 unique brands.

Over the years, African brands have represented only about 20% of the continent’s most admired brands, a challenge the awards aim to address by spotlighting those breaking through and shaping Africa’s image on the global stage.

The evening will offer not only recognition for outstanding brands but also opportunities for networking and collaboration among Africa’s most influential business leaders.
