The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has released the official schedule for its upcoming 2025 party meetings and conferences, as well as the list of eligible delegates. The announcement was made today by the Rt. Hon. Secretary General, Richard Todwong, in a press release from the party’s headquarters in Kampala.
Key Dates for NRM Events
The NRM has outlined a series of critical gatherings, set to take place from 20th to 28th August 2025, at various venues including the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (Nakawa) and the Kololo Independence Ceremonial Grounds. The schedule is as follows:
– 20th–22nd August: Central Executive Committee (CEC) Meeting
– 22nd August: Arrival and Accreditation for National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting
– 23rd August: NEC Meeting
– 24th August: Arrival and Accreditation for Special Organs National Elective Conferences
– 25th August: Special Organs (SIGs) National Elective Conferences
– 26th August: Arrival and Accreditation for Elective National Conference
– 27th–28th August: Elective National Conference
Delegates for the Meetings
The press release detailed the categories of delegates eligible to attend each event:
1. National Conference Delegates:
– Top party leaders, including the National Chairperson and Vice Chairpersons.
– NRM Members of Parliament, EALA representatives, and flag bearers.
– District and city chairpersons, diaspora branch executives, and leaders of special organs (e.g., Women’s League, Youth League).
– Observers invited by the National Chairman (up to 20 individuals).
2. National Executive Council (NEC) Delegates:
– Similar to the National Conference but with additional eminent persons and special invitees (up to 10 and 5, respectively).
3. Special Organs (SIGs) Conferences Delegates:
– Parliament members representing specific groups (Youth, PWDs, Workers, etc.).
– Incumbent and district-level executives of special organs.
Accreditation and Venues
Delegates are required to undergo accreditation at the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (Nakawa)on the specified dates. The Special Organs Conferences and the National Conference will be held at the Kololo Independence Ceremonial Grounds.
Transparency Measures
The NRM emphasized transparency, stating that lists of bonafide delegates will be displayed at all district offices and the party headquarters (Plot 10 Kyadondo Road, Nakasero) one week before the events.
The 2025 NRM meetings and conferences are poised to shape the party’s agenda ahead of upcoming national engagements. With a clear schedule and detailed delegate list, the party aims to ensure smooth and inclusive proceedings.
