Teso, Uganda — The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Director for Mobilisation, Hon. Rosemary Nansubuga Sseninde, has praised the people of Teso Sub-region for the warm and energetic welcome they gave to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni during his campaign visits to Serere and Soroti districts.
Sseninde said the large crowds and excitement across Teso showed the region’s continued support for the President and the ruling NRM government.
“First and foremost, I want to thank the people of Teso Sub-region because they have welcomed the President with a lot of happiness, in large numbers, and with great energy,” she said. “These rallies have been so powerful and inspiring.”
She noted that many residents expressed gratitude to the President for maintaining peace and stability throughout his years in leadership, which they described as the foundation for development in their communities.
“People here have told us that they are thankful to the President for the continued peace and stability he has kept the country in, but above all for the skilling hubs he has established, which have changed the lives of many youths,” Sseninde added.
According to her, several locals testified to benefiting from government initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM). She said many have invested the funds wisely and used them to uplift their livelihoods.
“The money they got from these projects has been used to empower themselves. We want to thank the people in these areas for following the President’s programmes seriously,” she said. “This commitment is the reason behind the continued support for the NRM.”
Sseninde expressed optimism that President Museveni and the NRM will continue to enjoy overwhelming support in the Teso Sub-region due to the visible impact of government programmes and the trust people have in his leadership.
She revealed that the President’s next stop will be Ngora and Bukedea districts, before concluding his Teso tour in Kumi District, as he prepares to head to the Elgon and Bugisu sub-regions.
“The people of Teso have shown that they believe in the President’s vision and programmes. Their testimonies are proof that his message of transformation is being embraced,” she concluded.
