Luwero war veteran and Presidential Advisor on Buganda, Al Hajji Abdul Nadduli, has claimed that some individuals within the security forces are working to damage President Museveni’s image and weaken the NRM government.
Speaking to the press, Nadduli said the President should urgently investigate what he described as “mafias” operating inside the Uganda Police, UPDF and other security agencies. According to him, these groups are allegedly carrying out actions that make the government appear hostile to citizens.
Nadduli pointed to recent incidents in areas such as Gulu, Mukono and Jinja, where opposition supporters have been injured, arrested or lost their lives. He said these incidents are creating public resentment and may be happening without the President’s direct knowledge.
“Such things never happened during Obote’s regimes. Even Museveni campaigned freely,” Nadduli said. “Look at what is happening now. Someone is secretly planning to overthrow Museveni. They want Ugandans to get fed up with him.”
Nadduli urged the President to probe the motives behind these actions, saying they could be part of a wider plan to destabilize the government.
