The economic challenges that had burdened Dr. Abuka’s “orbit,” specifically Pingire, seem to have found new hope since Dr. Abuka Charles Augustine announced his political intentions to represent Pingire County in the August House in 2026.
Dr. Abuka, a seasoned scholar and Ph.D. holder from Pretoria University, has vast experience in monetary, fiscal, and development policies. He could be the right choice for Parliament when it comes to strategic planning in the August House.
With this fundamental background, I implore all those intending to contest to politely inform the media about how they navigated their academic journeys, rather than making noise on social media. At the grassroots level, their impact is not felt.
“Produce your papers, and we will critique if you are truly an academic giant! We don’t want the ‘squealers’ like those in George Orwell’s Animal Farm, nor what happened with someone in Kanyumu County some time ago.”
Secondly, for development to take its course, it is only the well-informed and appropriately qualified individuals who can champion the fiscal, economic, and social conditions of a community. Ideally, factors such as health, education, improved working conditions, and, above all, domestic markets for our products, can be addressed when it comes to boosting local economic trade and related policies.
Even before stepping into Parliament, Dr. Abuka has already made significant contributions in Pingire: assisting schools, roofing churches, providing water services to the needy people of Pingire and Serere at large, repairing boreholes, and more.
To the political bottom line and truth to power, Dr. Abuka deserves the mantle! His heart, to begin with, is filled with resilience, and when it comes to Parliament caucuses and other vetting agencies, his experience, networks, and achievements will not be doubted.
