After a successful NRM Electoral Commission nomination process, former EC spokesperson Hon. Josam Taremwa held a welcome rally in Nyabushozi.
This rally was marked by a number of events, including traversing the entire constituency of Nyabushozi.
Being the first district (where the President of Uganda, H.E. Museveni, comes from), Nyabushozi has its own political dynamics. The constituency is dominated by cattle keepers with a sparse population.
Hon. Josam started his rally from his home in Kanyaryeru at 10:00 a.m. on 26th June 2025. He was received by massive crowds lining the roads in Sanga Town Council, where he made a brief address—though he left while voters still wanted his inspirational speech.
When he reached Rushere, the town of the President, Josam received a triumphant entry that set a landmark for his leadership in the constituency.
“Josam brought us solar lights. These days, Rushere remains shining even when power goes off,” a patriot noted, emphasizing why Josam has massive support.
In Kinoni, the support for Josam surprised everyone, as supporters blocked the road until Josam made a brief address to them.
Many people are saying that Josam’s rise to the peak is attributed to the incumbent’s inconsistency in service delivery and leading Nyabushozi on lies.
That’s the reason people have given Josam the name “Muzahura,” implying that a lot of hopes are placed in him to liberate Nyabushozi.
In some parts of Kikatsi, Omukageti people remained lining the roads till late in the night at 9:00 p.m. This forced Josam to first address them before ending day one of the massive rally.
If things remain the same, Hon. Josam Taremwa will be representing Nyabushozi in the 12th Parliament.
