A 33-year-old man in Busia District, Mustafar Manirabuka, has pleaded guilty to destroying five campaign posters of NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Thomas Okoth, Manirabuka admitted to using a knife to cut the posters on September 22, 2025. He was charged under Section 80(2) of the Presidential Elections Act.

In his defense, Manirabuka claimed he and his family had campaigned for President Museveni for years but had never been rewarded for their efforts.

The case highlights growing tensions as Uganda heads toward the 2026 general elections.
