Stella Birah Nambuya, the President of the Deliberate Vote and leader of the Republican Women and Youth Party, has announced that a coalition of nine political parties has endorsed NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ahead of next week’s general elections.

The elections are scheduled to take place on Thursday.

Nambuya said the alliance, operating under the Deliberate Vote banner, brings together the Republican Women and Youth Party (RWYP), Activist Party (AP), Congress Service Volunteer Organization (COSEVO), Liberal Democratic Transparency (LDT), Forum for Integrity in Leadership (FIL), People’s Development Party (PDP), Society for Peace and Development (SDP), Uganda Patriotic Movement (UPM), and the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED), along with several independent candidates.

She explained that after internal consultations, the coalition agreed to rally behind President Museveni, citing shared values and a common vision for national stability and development.

According to Nambuya, the coalition adopted a grassroots approach to mobilization, focusing on direct engagement with voters through meetings, SMS messages, video calls, and office consultations instead of mass rallies.

She claimed that this strategy has already yielded results, projecting an additional 3.3 million votes for Museveni across the country.

Nambuya said the coalition will continue with its voter engagement efforts until polling day, urging supporters to turn up in large numbers and vote peacefully.
