President Yoweri Museveni is set to engage with supporters through his first-ever live session on TikTok, as he prepares to launch campaign activities in Central Uganda.

The upcoming session is being organized by his daughter, Natasha Karugire, who has been accompanying the president on the campaign trail in the Rwenzori region over the past week. Natasha revealed that the idea for a TikTok live came from suggestions by her own followers on the platform.

“Some followers recommended that we try a TikTok Live session,” she said. “Since I’m still new on the app, I’ve been learning how it works and seeking guidance. I will discuss it with Mzee to see if we can make it happen so he can connect directly with the public.”

Over the past week, Natasha, 49, has been posting short videos on Instagram where she interviews the president, who responds to questions submitted via his X account.

This initiative follows a similar effort during the 2020/21 presidential campaigns, when Natasha assisted President Museveni in engaging Ugandans online.
