Today, Hon. Esther Birungi, the aspiring LC5 Chairperson, was seen making waves on the ground in Sheema District when she addressed various groups, including boda boda riders in Shuuku, Sheema North.




A strong contender for the LC5 Chairperson position, Esther has been engaging with locals in villages and communities, discussing how she will advocate for better leadership and improved service delivery.




Esther Birungi is a native of Kakinga, Kabwohe, Sheema Municipality.




She is a trained medical professional who obtained a nursing certificate from Ibanda Nursing Institute. Additionally, she holds both a diploma and a degree in Social Work and Social Administration from our motherland university, Ankole Western University.

Esther Birungi has worked with major health organizations, such as The Global Health Network, where she was awarded the ICH Good Clinical Practice E6/R2 certification.

With her extensive experience in managing people and leadership, her background certifies her as a capable candidate for the position of LC5 Chairperson of Sheema District. She has demonstrated leadership in almost every organization she has been a part of.




Esther Birungi is indeed making waves across Sheema District as a contender for the LC5 Chairperson seat in 2026. Her commitment to promoting sports and agriculture in the region has resonated with the local community, many of whom feel neglected by the current LC5 Chairperson, Jemima Buhanda.
