Obongi District – Twelve suspects from Yumbe District, arrested by security in Obongi District, have been remanded to Moyo Prison.

The suspects, who were arrested for stealing goats, appeared before the Magistrate’s Court in Moyo District after being apprehended in Kali Village, Itula Sub-county, Obongi District.




Residents of Obongi District, who criticized some political leaders for allegedly colluding with the Yumbe leadership to violate the rights of the people, commended the security leaders in Obongi for rescuing them from what they described as the tyranny of Yumbe District. They praised the arrest of the suspects, whom they called “bad people.”




The twelve suspects from Yumbe, who have been charged with robbery, have been remanded to Moyo Prison under reference number 060/2025.




The suspected criminals, who were apprehended for stealing goats from Obongi, were transferred from Morobi Police Post in Itula Sub-county to Obongi Central Police Station.

The suspects were earlier arrested by UPDF soldiers and police officers during an operation mounted against the criminals who had crossed into Obongi from Yumbe and stolen goats from Kali Village in Kali Parish, Obongi District.

The Obongi Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, thanked the police and the army for their vigilance in combating the criminals who had long been terrorizing residents of Itula Sub-county.
