How to Access 2023 KCSE Results and Changes in Checking Process
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has released the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results. In a departure from the previous year, candidates can no longer access their results through the SMS code system. Instead, individual results can be accessed online through a dedicated link on the KNEC website or directly through the URL: www.results.knec.ac.ke. The results will be available immediately after the announcement by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
Unlike the SMS service, official result slips will be accessible through the examination centres where candidates sat for their exams. Education Cabinet Secretary Machogu briefed President William Ruto at State Lodge Eldoret before officially announcing the results. A total of 903,260 candidates took part in the examinations, which commenced on October 23, 2023, and concluded in November 2023.
The shift from SMS-based result checking comes after errors were observed during the release of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results. The Ministry of Education had signaled the exploration of discontinuing the SMS service for checking national examination results.
Candidates and stakeholders are encouraged to utilize the online platforms provided by KNEC to access and verify the 2023 KCSE results efficiently.
