Public Service Cabinet Secretary, Moses Kuria, addressed recent speculation regarding the location of his office and its potential impact on his working relationship with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
Mudavadi’s new office was initially assigned at the Railways buildings, but ongoing renovations have led him to operate from the Treasury buildings temporarily. Recent developments, including President William Ruto’s decision to appoint Mudavadi as the Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary, prompted discussions about a possible move to the Old Treasury Buildings on Harambee Avenue.
In a response to these changes, Felix Koskei, the Head of Public Service and Chief of Staff, reshuffled the cabinet, leading to expectations that Moses Kuria might be relocated to the Railways buildings.
In response to the confusion and reports of friction, Moses Kuria clarified the situation, stating that both he and Musalia Mudavadi would remain in their current locations, with Mudavadi at Railways Headquarters and himself at Harambee House. He emphasized their amicable working relationship.
Kuria also refuted claims that his ministry would be moved to the Railways Buildings. He disclosed that Performance and Delivery Management Principal Secretary Veronicah Nduva would also work from Harambee House to ensure efficient monitoring of government delivery and performance contracts enforcement.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary’s office reaffirmed that Musalia Mudavadi would continue to operate from Railways Headquarters, dispelling any doubts about a potential move to Harambee Avenue.
Moses Kuria previously operated from Two Rivers Mall in Ruaka as the Trade Cabinet Secretary before the cabinet reshuffle on October 4, which saw the Trade Ministry return to the National Social Security Fund buildings. Mudavadi’s potential move to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was postponed due to his official duties overseas.
In summary, Moses Kuria confirmed that his office location and that of Musalia Mudavadi would remain unchanged despite recent speculations and government reshuffles.
