President William Ruto, during interviews with major news agencies NTV, Citizen TV, and KTN at Nairobi’s State House on Sunday, emphasized the importance of peace and urged Kenyans to embrace peaceful means to address national issues.

Addressing concerns over ongoing violence, President Ruto urged citizens to maintain peace, citing the loss of lives and property damage caused by recent unrest. He expressed optimism that Kenya could overcome its challenges if united in purpose.

“We are one nation. By facing our challenges together, we can resolve them and propel Kenya forward,” he stated.

President Ruto made these remarks during a service at the Lolgorian Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) church in Narok County.

Additionally, President Ruto expressed confidence in the country’s current trajectory, noting significant milestones achieved. He highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering change through innovative and deliberate policies.

The President cited reductions in fertilizer costs, increased agricultural productivity, and a resulting decrease in the cost of living. Inflation rates have dropped from 9.8% in 2022 to 4.6% this month.

Furthermore, he noted improvements in the Kenyan Shilling’s exchange rate against the US Dollar, currently trading at KSh 128 from KSh 162. He also mentioned an increase in tourist numbers alongside declining interest rates.

“I believe our nation is on the path to transformation because we are taking appropriate steps in the right direction,” he affirmed.

President Ruto acknowledged opposition to Kenya’s progress, referencing critics who questioned Kenya’s readiness for a 16-year Presidential visit from the United States.

He pledged to make necessary decisions to advance the country, emphasizing that decades of stagnation were due to past leaders’ indecision.

The President announced plans to establish technology centers in each ward to expand digital opportunities for the youth.

“We must have a deliberate plan to create jobs for our young people,” he stressed.

Additionally, he mentioned the government’s efforts to secure new international markets for agricultural products to increase farmers’ incomes.

“These efforts are the result of my various trips abroad,” he explained.

President Ruto commended farmers in Narok County for increasing food production, thus enhancing food security nationwide. He announced infrastructure projects, including road construction, to facilitate easier access for farmers to markets.

He also announced an allocation of KSh 1.8 billion for electricity connection in Narok County.

Governor Patrick ole Ntutu and former Governor Samuel Tunai attended the church service.
