The Assistant Resident City Commissioner of Lira City, Boney Okello, has praised Rev. Can. Dr. Jacky Milton Otoo Olima, the former Vicar and Archdeacon of Obanga Pe Wany All Saints and Lira Urban West Archdeaconry, respectively. Can. Otoo, who turned 65 on August 25, 2024, retired after 42 years of service in the Diocese of Lango.

Okello Alele congratulated Rev. Can. Dr. Otoo for being a great wealth creation priest who encouraged many people to be productive and economically empowered. “You have exemplified the true meaning of the church by always encouraging people to be productive and active in the money economy,” said Alele. “As you enter retirement, continue to preach wealth creation.”

The NRM government and President Museveni are focused on the money economy. No one should be left behind. The church and its priests should use various platforms in their churches to discourage laziness and dependency. Parents and guardians should challenge their children and dependents to start thinking economically to supplement family income, rather than merely waiting.

Alele encouraged the newly appointed caretaker Vicar and Archdeacon of Obanga Pe Wany All Saints and Lira Urban West Archdeaconry, Rev. Ven. Sadrack Ogwal, to encourage the followers of Christ to consider economic engagement to support the church.

The ARCC commended Rev. Can. Dr. Otoo at a farewell party attended by thousands of Christians, dignitaries, and their representatives, including Hon. Denis Hamson Obua (Government Chief Whip), Hon. Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, Rev. Can. Hellen Susan Olwa (wife of Bishop Prof. Alfred Olwa), and Diocesan Secretary Mr. Hudson Ogwali.
