AGAGO, Uganda – Agago Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC), Oweka John Bostify, has urged parents to ensure their children return to school promptly as term three commences on Monday.

Speaking to the Ankole Times newspaper on Thursday afternoon, Oweka emphasized the importance of combined efforts from parents and teachers to ensure students achieve a better education in the country, particularly in Agago district.

He requested all teachers to report to duty promptly on Monday, September 16, 2024, and be ready to start classes to ensure the syllabus is completed on time.

Oweka commended all headteachers in Agago district for their consistent efforts to achieve a significant number of first-grade passes in PLE, O-level, and A-level examinations.

He cautioned all learners in Agago about the traditional practice of reporting late to school a week after the official opening date.

Agago district is among the districts with the best performance in the Acholi sub-region, according to the ARDC. Parents in Agago district, especially those with candidate classes, should ensure they prepare necessary school supplies for their children so that they are fully ready to attend school on Monday and study, as this is the final term of the school year.
