Okidi Patrick, Pader –  Aruu North County MP Hon. Santa Okot fulfilled her promise on Monday by donating a total of 10 million shillings to six different groups in Acholibur Sub-County and Acholibur Town Council.

Many of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the donation and pledged to invest in income-generating activities to improve their financial situation. Roselyn Alimo of Acholibur Sub-County praised MP Okot for her efforts to alleviate poverty in Aruu North.




A member of Gem Central Parish, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that they would use the money to plant soybeans and groundnuts during the second rainy season. Alice Nyeko of Gem Central Parish commended MP Okot for her exemplary leadership in wealth creation and expressed her support for her re-election in 2026.




Alice Lakot of Gem Parish highlighted MP Okot’s dedication to her constituents and her ability to secure resources for their benefit. Mr. Ogwang Johnnie of Ogago Parish shared that their group was formed during the COVID-19 pandemic and now has 100 members.




MP Okot explained that the 10 million shillings was intended to boost household income and agricultural food production. A group leader, identified as Alice, expressed optimism about their future financial growth, expecting their capital to reach 20 million shillings within three years.

Acholibur Sub-County Councilor Wokorach Godwin encouraged the group members to use the money wisely. Santa Okot is the only member of parliament to win the recent election under the People’s Progressive Party (PPP).
