As part of the preparations for the upcoming NRM National Delegates Conference scheduled for August 2025, Hon. Kakuru Phillip, one of the notable aspirants for the position of National Chairman of the NRM Entrepreneurs League, has registered and launched a national Entrepreneurs SACCO with an initial capital injection of UGX 100 million.
Hon. Kakuru Phillip currently serves as a Senior Presidential Advisor on Trade and Investment, a position he was appointed to by H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in recognition of his exceptional track record and expertise in engaging entrepreneurs at both local and international levels.
Kakuru is the Chairman and CEO of the Rostec Education Group in South Africa, Chairman of Vavika Financial Services, and Director of Rostec Empowerment Consulting.
He frequently shares his inspirational journey—from humble beginnings in Mbarara, Western Uganda, to success abroad in a highly competitive environment—serving as a motivational figure to many aspiring entrepreneurs.
He firmly believes that with effective leadership at the top levels of the NRM’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), entrepreneurs across the country can thrive. According to Kakuru, the trust placed in him by President Museveni is a valuable opportunity that entrepreneurs can leverage to have their concerns addressed.
Demonstrating his commitment, Hon. Kakuru launched the National SACCO for entrepreneurs with a personal contribution of UGX 100 million in start-up capital.
If elected as National Chairman of the NRM Entrepreneurs League, he pledges to decentralize SACCOs across the country, thereby creating inclusive platforms for saving, borrowing, and investing among entrepreneurs.
