Bobi Wine, the President of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Uganda’s largest opposition party, has voiced his concerns regarding recent events in the country. He emphasized, “Everyone who betrays the people’s struggle will get their due reward.” Wine expressed apprehension that President Museveni might use taxpayers’ money to bribe individuals, including those considered honorable, to engage in dishonorable actions. However, he asserted that their faith lies not in the political class but in the people of Uganda.
Earlier today, Bobi Wine addressed another pressing issue. He revealed that their comrade, Lutalo Bbosa, commonly known as Battle Kay, was detained at Buikwe Police Station. Bbosa had been missing for two days, with his family and their teams searching for him in vain. Bbosa was arrested under unknown charges while visiting comrade Masaba Faustine at Bugungu Prison. Wine assured that he had spoken to Bbosa and awaited his appearance in court, asserting Bbosa’s innocence.
Wine raised alarm about a resurgence in abductions and illegal arrests throughout the country. He called upon all citizens of goodwill to unite in condemning and resisting these criminal acts. Such incidents not only violate individuals’ rights but also threaten the country’s stability and democracy. Wine’s plea for solidarity underscores the importance of collective action in safeguarding human rights and upholding the rule of law.
