Absa Bank Uganda has unveiled its credit card offerings, providing customers with up to 50 interest-free days. This initiative comes as part of the bank’s commitment to meeting evolving customer needs and preferences, particularly in the digital era where cashless transactions are increasingly favored.
Under the campaign titled “Everybody Deserves a Bestie Kabisa,” Absa aims to showcase the versatility and benefits of its credit cards, highlighting how customers can leverage them for convenient financing. Musa Jallow, the Retail and Business Banking Director at Absa Bank Uganda, emphasized the importance of providing modern solutions that align with customers’ lifestyles and preferences.
The Absa credit card empowers customers to utilize their credit limits for various expenses, including purchases of goods, services, subscriptions, and travel, both in-store and online. Additionally, customers have the flexibility to choose repayment plans at reduced interest rates, transfer funds from their credit cards to their accounts or Mobile Wallets, and enjoy up to 50 days interest-free.
One notable feature of the Absa credit card is the ability to instantly send money to any Visa cardholder worldwide using the Absa Card Send feature. This functionality enhances financial flexibility and enables seamless transactions across borders.
For customers opting for the Absa Platinum credit card, additional benefits await, including Purchase Protection, reward miles for every expenditure, and the option to obtain up to four supplementary cards for family members or loved ones, facilitating easier payments.
The introduction of these credit card offerings reflects Absa’s response to the growing preference for digital payment systems in Uganda. Musa Jallow highlighted the increasing demand for such services, with Absa currently issuing over 70% of all credit cards in the market and handling 92% of payment volume. These figures underscore Absa’s commitment to innovation and delivering high-quality, affordable banking services to its customers.
Jallow further emphasized the simplicity and efficiency of the registration process, encouraging individuals to sign up for an Absa credit card. By doing so, customers can unlock a range of benefits, including favorable interest rates, customizable payment plans, and seamless digital payment options through Absa’s internet and mobile banking platforms.
