Uganda-UAE Business Forum 2023: Enhancing Bilateral Relations and Investment Prospects

In a press conference held on October 6, 2023, it was announced that the Uganda-UAE Business Forum is scheduled to take place in Kampala next week. This event, which is held annually, aims to attract foreign investments, promote Ugandan exports to the UAE, boost tourism, facilitate technology transfer, and create a positive image of Uganda.

The second edition of the forum will occur from October 10 to October 13, 2023, at the Speke Resort and Conference Center in Munyonyo, Kampala. The theme for this year’s forum is “Uganda: the gateway of the UAE to the EAC region.”

H.E. Zaake Kibedi, Uganda’s Ambassador to the UAE, stated that the forum’s objective is to encourage both private and public investments in Uganda by showcasing the investment opportunities available to UAE investors.

Hon. Evelyn Anite, the Minister of State for Investment, who also attended the press conference, emphasized that the Uganda-UAE Business Forum will promote foreign direct investment (FDI), increase exports, boost tourism, facilitate technology transfer, and strengthen the ties between the two nations.

The briefing also saw the presence of the Director-General of the Uganda Investment Authority, UIA.
