The Chief of Defence Forces and Patron of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has appointed new leaders for the PLU in the Madi sub-region.
The following appointments take immediate effect:
- Dr. Bhoka Didi George, MP for Obongi: Chief Whip for Madi sub-region
- Hon. Maneno Zumura, Woman MP for Obongi: Secretary for Women Affairs
- Julius Nyerere, ARDC Moyo: Deputy Coordinator
- Paul Agwe: Secretary
- Ronald Nyanda: Mobilizer
- Chrispus Asindu: Deputy District Coordinator
The appointments were announced by the Regional Coordinator for Madi sub-region, Manga Charles, during the launch of the Ewafa YELLOW BRIGADE chapter at Ewafa Primary School in Ewafa sub-county, Obongi district.
Both Hon. Maneno Zumura and Dr. Bhoka Didi George accepted their new roles and pledged to serve diligently.
The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Obongi, Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, congratulated the newly appointed leaders and promised to work with them to promote socioeconomic transformation and mobilize for government-funded programs like PDM, Emyooga, YLP, and UWEP.
The District Chairperson for Obongi, Abibu Khemis, also pledged to work with the new PLU team.
