Singer Cinderella Sanyu hosted a dinner party in Kiwatule on Wednesday night to celebrate her recent music battle victory against Sheebah Karungi. The event saw the attendance of close friends, family members, producers, management, her dance crew, and the support team that stood by her during the September 15 battle concert at Kololo.
Notably, Cindy’s husband, Prynce Atiko Okuyo, was noticeably absent from the gathering. Cindy explained that he made this decision deliberately.
“My husband couldn’t be here today because he wanted me to shine on my own. He noticed that people were saying he was following me around and doing everything for me,” she said. “But today he decided that this should be my day to shine and he sent you all the love.”
Cindy expressed her gratitude to those who supported her throughout her journey, including former dancers who returned to support her during the show, her gym members who provided free security, and her devoted fans. She also recognized the efforts of her battle emcee, Shafik Kayima, who took over from DJ Nimrod when he faced backlash from Sheebah’s fans.
“My first MC was DJ Nimrod, and he did an amazing job, but he realized that the other team was attacking him in a really personal way and noticed that to save his image he had to step aside. But there are other people who don’t fear danger, people like Kayima,” she said.
Cindy affirmed herself as the battle winner, emphasizing that she was the “last woman standing” during the show.
