RDC Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, Assistant RDC, and Other Leaders Meet at Obongi SS After Headteacher's Removal

The withdrawal of the headteacher, Mr. Ngobi John, follows allegations of embezzlement of millions of shillings and accusations of absenteeism.

Parents and stakeholders formed a committee to pressure the Ministry of Education to remove the headteacher due to corruption allegations.




The stakeholders, including Old Boys (OBs) and Old Girls (OGs), demanded an investigation and prosecution of Ngobi John for allegedly embezzling Universal Secondary Education (USE) capitation grants and registration fees from UNHCR for refugee students.




Obongi District Chairperson Abibu Khemis directed the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to audit Obongi SS with the aim of prosecuting Mr. Ngobi. Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Obongi Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka assured Obongi SS stakeholders that the headteacher would be removed.




The Ministry of Education has now removed Ngobi John and replaced him with Mr. Matua Opacto. The deputy headteacher has also been removed and replaced with Mr. Toko Patrick. RDC Obongi Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, Assistant RDC Umuhoza Habiba Furaha, and District Police Commander (DPC) SP Nkurunziza Graciano held a meeting with the new headteacher and deputy headteacher at Obongi SS.

]They urged the new team to reorganize Obongi SS and ensure the proper utilization of government and partner funds.
