High Court judge Isaac Muwata has declined Molly Katanga’s request for bail. Katanga faces charges related to the murder of her husband, Henry Katanga.

Judge Muwata reasoned that since the case is scheduled for a hearing, it is in the best interest of justice to deny her bail.

The judge cited a previous case, Uganda versus Francis Onebe, as part of the basis for his decision.

Molly Katanga has been in custody since January 24, 2024, when she was initially charged with the offense of murdering her husband.
