The Ankole Times

The territorial police at Nagalama have rescued 51 people from human trafficking. On April 2, 2025, at around 10:00 AM, the police received information about individuals being deceived into fake job offers by AIM Global Alliance, a networking company based in the Nagalama division.

It is alleged that the victims were tricked with promises of job opportunities. Each victim was instructed to pay UGX 150,000 upon reporting for the supposed job, which was said to cover training costs.

Once the victims handed over their phones, they were coerced into recruiting their friends and contacting relatives to pay UGX 1,500,000 (one million five hundred thousand) to purchase products that they would sell in hopes of earning more money.

The victims were promised that, in the future, they would earn at least UGX 1,000,000 (one million), depending on the number of people they recruited and the sales made.

The operation was carried out in various locations within Kalagi, including:

  • Kakola Village, Kyabakadde Parish, Kyampisi Sub-county, Mukono District: 14 victims (3 males and 11 females) were found sleeping in a single room.

  • Kalagi Village, Naggalama A Ward, Nakifuma, Naggalama Town Council, Mukono District: 20 victims (10 males and 10 females) were found sleeping in a small room.

  • Bbosa Village, Kyabakadde Parish, Mukono District: 14 victims (6 males and 8 females) were found in one single room.

The victims were allegedly recruited by Kasule Zephaniah and Nantima Evelyn, who have both been arrested and detained at Nagalama Police Station.
