Police in Mitooma District are currently conducting an investigation into the mysterious death of 57-year-old Matia Tukamiheebwa under puzzling circumstances.
Details provided by Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi police, reveal that the victim, a peasant residing in Nyabyondo cell, Rwoburunga Parish, Rwoburunga sub-county in Mitooma District, was discovered lifeless on the morning of January 29, 2024.
At around 9:00 AM, Robert Mwebembezi, a 46-year-old resident of Rutookye 3 cell, Kibaare Ward, Rutookye town council in Mitooma District, found Tukamiheebwa’s body lying under eucalyptus trees along the path leading to his home. The victim displayed multiple cuts on the head.
Reports indicate that Tukamiheebwa had left his residence around 5:00 PM the previous day, intending to go to Omukibaati trading center. However, he never returned.
The body was discovered in an isolated area with no nearby households, surrounded by a pool of blood. Subsequently, Matia Tukamiheebwa’s remains were transported to Mitooma Health Center IV for a postmortem examination.
As the investigation unfolds, police are actively seeking information to determine the motive behind this tragic incident. The circumstances surrounding Tukamiheebwa’s death remain unclear, and authorities are working diligently to unravel the mystery.
