The incident occurred in Kasharara Village, Ibanda Parish, Nyarushanje Sub-county, Rubabo County. According to police reports, Biryomumisho was last seen on Saturday, July 5, around 4:00 PM at Nyarushanje Trading Centre as he made his way home. Upon arrival, he found the house locked but noticed the lifeless body through the doorway. Police in Rubabo were immediately notified, and a team, including a canine unit, was dispatched to the scene to document evidence and begin investigations.

The body was transported to Rwakabengo Health Centre III mortuary for a postmortem examination.
