Police in Bushenyi District have arrested Brian Tugumenaine, a boda boda rider from Kagati Cell, Kizinda Town Council, for the alleged murder of fellow rider Natumanya Isiah, 29, also from Kizinda.
The incident reportedly occurred on September 17, 2024, around 10 PM, when the victim went to Bruce’s Bar to watch a football match. Following an altercation, Tugumenaine allegedly stabbed Natumanya and attempted to flee the scene. He was arrested through the combined efforts of security guards from Kings Betting Company Kizinda and a friend of the victim, known as Asasira.
Tugumenaine was taken to Kizinda Police Station for further investigation. Meanwhile, Natumanya managed to reach a nearby clinic but was later referred to Ishaka Adventist Hospital, where he was admitted and ultimately pronounced dead.
A murder case has been registered under CRB 805/2024. The crime scene was examined and documented by SOCO and a team of detectives, who recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack.
The body of the deceased has been returned to Ishaka Adventist Hospital for examination, with relatives taking responsibility for post-mortem arrangements.
SSP Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson, confirmed the details of the incident to the press and noted that investigations are ongoing.
