The bodies of David Mutaaga, 69, and his wife, Florence Mutaaga, 62, who were brutally murdered in July in Entebbe, are set to be flown back to Zurich, Switzerland. The couple’s children have chosen to bury their parents in Switzerland, where the family had lived for over 30 years.
Police investigations into the murders failed to determine a clear motive, despite the involvement of multiple intelligence agencies. Two suspects were arrested, but authorities were unable to establish why the killings occurred. The unresolved nature of the case reportedly made the Mutaagas’ children hesitant to travel to Kampala.
The Mutaagas had recently returned from Switzerland to Kampala to enjoy their retirement, settling in Lugonjo, Nakiwogo Cell, in Entebbe Municipality, where they were attacked in early July.
The family and friends now plan to lay the couple to rest in Zurich, closing a tragic chapter that has left the local community shocked.
