The police in Kiboga district are investigating a murder case involving an 11-year-old girl named Namanda Oliver. The suspect, Nakyeyune Madinah, a 42-year-old woman from Kirurumba cell, has been taken into custody.
Victim Details
Namanda Oliver, the deceased, was a pupil at FAIR Way Nursery School and lived in Buzibwera cell.
Disappearance and Initial Report
On the night of June 10, 2024, at around 10:00 PM, Namanda left home to sell boiled maize in Kiboga town. She was wearing a yellow T-shirt and a black skirt. When she did not return home, her family reported her missing to the police on June 11, 2024. The police immediately began their search.
Discovery of Body Parts
On June 12, 2024, at approximately 11:30 AM, a young boy collecting grass for animals found parts of Namanda’s body in Mr. Sekandi’s field in Kirurumba cell. He informed his parents, who then alerted the local council (LC1) of the area. The police task team, led by the District Police Commander (DPC) of Kiboga, responded quickly to the crime scene.
Condition of the Body
At the scene, the police found that internal organs, including the lungs and heart, had been removed. The abdomen was separated from the legs, which were left at the scene. The recovered body parts were taken to Kiboga Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Evidence and Arrest
Evidence found at the scene included a knicker and a black skirt, believed to belong to the deceased. A police dog led the investigators to a shrine in Kirurumba cell owned by Nakyeyune Madinah. She is now detained at Kiboga police station.
Ongoing Investigation
The police are continuing their search for the missing body parts and are working to identify and arrest any additional suspects involved in this crime. Rachel Kawala, the Police Spokesperson for the Wamala region, urged parents to be vigilant about their children’s safety both at home and outside.
